What do all these men have in common? They are some of the people I admire.

Each has a quality that make them unique and puts them at the top of my most admired people in the field of creativity and innovation

Total Persistence-Can you imagine trying something and failing at least 700 times. That is how many times Edison tried and failed to perfect the light bulb. You probably knew that he did not invent the bulb, he perfected it so it could be reliable and mass produced. Edison said, “I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work.”

I visited Edison’s home in Menlo Park NJ when I was in elementary school on a field trip. It made an impact on me; it wasn’t until much later in life I wanted to be an inventor but Edison always impressed me with his determination.

Fantastic Vision-When I visited Walt Disneyland in Anaheim, CA I visited a display that chronicled Disney’s quest to build the first theme park. Talk about being a pioneer with fantastic vision and the will to see it through.

One of my favorite quotes by Walt Disney is, “Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Keep moving forward–learn from your mistakes and keep going.

Pure Imagination-I just love the Willie Wonka movie, the original of course. A world of pure imagination, no limits. He was a entrepreneur who was very much in touch with his customers. There is just something magical and inspiring about him.

I like when he says, “We are the music makers… and we are the dreamers of dreams.” Make some music and dream BIG. Imagination has no limit.
