I was watching ABC’s Shark Tank the other day with my son. I had about 5 or so episodes DVR’d so we had a bit of a marathon going on. I can’t remember which Shark said it but he used the term “WANTREPRENEUR”.
My definition of a wantrepreneur is a person who wants success but doesn’t want to put in the work. A person who wants the reward but doesn’t want to take the risk.
A Bit of Perspective
I was talking with a friend at work today about my latest invention and my plans to get it launched on Kickstarter. I was saying that this project is a lot of work and I was afraid that it might not be successful. He gave me some good business advice and, “It will be hard work and you may fail”.
If it were easy, it would be done already. If it’s not risky, then it’s probably not very compelling. Sometimes you need to be out on the edge.
You want some cheese to go with that whine?
